What Byteshark offers

Services

Byteshark LLC is an independent security research lab and penetration testing firm. The lab comes first. Its tooling is offered as a service, and a limited number of commissioned analysis projects are taken on when they fit. All of it is done under written authorization and delivered with the evidence attached.

01

Mako · adversary emulation Closed beta

An autonomous agent pointed at an authorized target: an external network, an Active Directory domain, or a web application. It finds its own way in and keeps going. The report shows the path it took, each finding with its fix, the full action log, and what the run cost. The operator checks every claim and signs.

Mako is in closed beta. Engagements are run at no cost for accepted applicants in exchange for candid feedback on the report. What Mako is · Apply for the beta

02

Commissioned analysis

Two areas, matching what the lab already works on.

Threat intelligence

Analysis of a campaign, its infrastructure, or the actor behind it.

Malware analysis

Analysis of a suspicious sample covering family, behavior, and capabilities, plus indicators and detection content where they apply.

Other projects within these areas are considered case by case.

03

What you get

  • A written report with the evidence behind every finding
  • A plain-language summary with confidence levels stated
  • Indicators and detection content for your environment where applicable
  • A walkthrough of the findings
Process

How a project works

  1. A short intro conversation. Free. For Mako, this starts with the beta application.
  2. A written scope and authorization.
  3. The work. Analysis by hand, or an autonomous run with a human verifying every claim.
  4. The report and walkthrough.

Work stays confidential by default. A fully anonymized write-up is published only with your written approval.

Scope

Boundaries

Byteshark works only with written authorization. It doesn’t investigate private individuals, run surveillance, do background screening, or touch systems without permission. The full authorization policy, rules of engagement, and data-handling terms are on the Security page.

Pricing and capacity

Commissioned projects are scoped individually and quoted after the intro conversation. Mako beta engagements are at no cost for accepted applicants. Capacity is limited, so projects are accepted selectively. Credentials and references are shared in the intro conversation.
